Kim Gunn, Front Office Manager
Kim joined NIM in 2008. Previously, she had worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she trained as a phlebotomist. She then went on to work in several departments at Vandy, including Employee Health, Pediatrics, and The Breast Center, all as an administrative assistant. She was also a patient care tech in The Wilson Medical Group. In 1997 she began working from home as a medical transcriptionist, so she could be with her newborn daughter. She returned to Vandy in 2003, as the administrative assistant to the Director of Outpatient Medicine.
In February 2008, an exacerbation of fibromyalgia symptoms led her to Nashville Integrated Medicine and Dr. Dave. “I fell in love with the practice the moment I walked in the door,” Kim remembers. “Having been in a ‘medical machine’ for so long it was so refreshing to find a place where I actually felt cared for and listened to, a place that treated me as a person, not as a diagnosis.” She loved it so much that at the end of each visit she would remind Dr. Dave of her of medical office skills, “just in case you ever need someone.” Obviously, it worked!
Kim also works as the assistant director of a preschool program in East Nashville two mornings a week. Besides doting on her daughter Donna, she enjoys working with community theatre and can be heard cheering for her beloved Nashville Predators.
